We are delighted to announce that The Game Academy and Guitars not Guns are our designated charities for 2018. We will be raising funds in a number of auctions and other fun happenings throughout BABScon 2018 event. 

The Game Academy 
The Game Academy creates and supports game-based education that empowers life-long learners to achieve academic, social, emotional and personal success.
We engage imaginations with interactive games wherein communication, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking are the keys to unlocking adventures in learning. Our curriculum is designed to help players make enduring connections between what they know, what they are learning, and what is possible.
Most importantly, our games are designed to be FUN!

Guitars not Guns
We provide guitars and lessons to Foster children and at-risk youth in a classroom setting with qualified teachers as an alternative to violence. 
Guitars not Guns program is targeted to foster kids and at-risk youth ages 8-18 using high teacher-to-student ratios. Each class consists of a maximum of 10 students with three adult instructors. Each program is 8 weeks long with a one hour session each week. In addition to learning how to master changing from one chord to another, children learn perseverance & discipline and build self-esteem. More importantly, the kids learn to enjoy the interaction and have fun in a group setting. Those kids who complete the full 8 week program have earned the right to keep the guitar and are invited to return for a second 8-week session of more advanced instruction. They’ve earned it.

For the first time since our inaugural con in 2014, BABSCon is honored to announce the bard of pickle barrels, kumquats, and chimicherrychangas—the one and only Amy Keating Rogers—will be joining us this March!

It’s no stretch to say that Amy is among the most beloved of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s writers, given that her credits include (among others) “Fall Weather Friends,” “A Dog and Pony Show,” “The Best Night Ever,” “Pinkie Pride,” “Testing Testing 1, 2, 3” and “Canterlot Boutique” before giving the Cutie Mark Crusaders their cutie marks at long last in “Crusaders of the Lost Mark.”

If you’ve ever sung along to Pinkie Pie’s “Smile Song” or any of the “Weird Al” Yancovic-fueled madness in “Pinkie Pride,” you have Amy to thank. (She might even be an evil enchantress!)

Outside of MLP, Amy’s illustrious credits include episodes of The Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Dexter’s Laboratory, Fairly Oddparents, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Danny Phantom. During her recent time at the House of Mouse, she was writing for their Star Darlings franchise.

Amy is known throughout the pony world for her warmth, humor, and mad ukulele skills, and we couldn’t be happier to have her back. She’ll be joining Kelly Sheridan and Trevor Devall among our Guests of Honor.

As our heroes prepare for the unfolding of our sixth event starting March 30, 2018, they've acquired another ally in their battle for the future of San Franciscolt: Trevor Devall! Trevor is the voice of Iron Will, Hoity Toity, and Fancy Pants on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic plus he has also voiced Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy, Emperor Palpatine in Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, Jayce in League of Legends, Hermiod in Stargate Atlantis, and other characters loved by many. We're also happy to confirm Mr. Devall will not be wearing his Hoity Toity sunglasses during the convention, and will be interacting with common ponies in attendance in various events and autograph signing opportunities. Mr. Devall joins Kelly Sheridan in our growing lineup of guests and exciting BABSCon 2018 announcements!

During the cinematic conclusion of our 2017 convention, we swore our return. Coming this spring, journey once again to the legendary event that is BABSCon, to a realm of Fables & Fantasy! From March 30 – April 1, 2018, an epic trilogy will come to a close during our Spectacular 5th event. The battle for the fate of San Franciscolt must end. You will decide whether the forces of light or darkness will prevail, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Such a momentous occasion demands the presence of a Guest of Honor of suitable stature, and we will not disappoint. We’ve watched her redemption after threatening the very fate of Equestria, only to become Princess Twilight’s own protegée and a veritable Mane Character: We bring you the GlimGlamorous Kelly Sheridan! The voice of Starlight Glimmer, Sassy Saddles, Barbie, InuYasha’s Sango, and many, many more will make her triumphant return to our shores.
